Located on the connaught point of a bustling street juncture this ancient architectural marvel stands the test of time since 1815. Although not as popular as the nearby St John's Church this Scottish Church definitely in all right demands a visit for its marvelous interiors and breathtaking beauty.

St Andrew's Church also known as the Kirk is the only Scottish church in Kolkata and was opened to the public only on March 8, 1818. The foundation stone was laid on November 30, 1815 by Marquis of Hastings. The Countess of Moira and the Countess of Loudon attended the stone laying ceremony. In 1835, the clock fitted to the tower. It was designed by M/s Burn, Currie & Co. It was also known as "laat sahib ka girja" (the church of the Governor). Probably the name derived from the fact that the foundation stone was laid by the wife of the Governor General, Marquis of Hastings. St Andrew's Church was built just at the site of Old Court House which was demolished in 1792.

Located near Dalhousie square of Central Kolkata, this Presbyterian church was established in 1818. The church is well maintained by the Church Union of North India.

The church position in main road sides, you can get easily and remember it. Near Lalbazar in front of writer's building. Photography is not allowed inside.

This is a pretty small church located on Dalhousie crossing just opposite of the Writer's Building. The church is well maintained and adds to the charm of the place. Due to the Writer's and the church being in close vicinity, the places seems very historic. The place is 15 mins bus ride from Howrah station.

A beautifully maintained, well decorated church, situated amidst the most viable route of the city. Thus, it is very convenient for the visitors to have a glance. Sundays, morning at 10, the church organises regular weekly prayer. So, take a note of the time.

This Presbyterian church is a landmark building of central kolkata. Situated in the north east corner of 'Laldighi '(erstwhile Dalhousie square),St. Andrew's church was built in the year of 1818. The then ruler of India, East India Company under Governor General lord Moira funded rupees one lakh to its foundation. Initially the church was under the influence of the church of Scotland . Several decades later in 1970 , it joined the union of church of North India ( CNI ).
